We {Can’t Wait} for Antigoddess by Kendare Blake (@KendareBlake) at #BEA13 plus BEA Tips! @torteen

Can't Wait for Book Expo America Tips and BEA Books

We’re so excited for BEA, we thought we’d have a little countdown until it’s time to go. We’re also going to include some fun things that we can’t wait for as well as some helpful tips for you.

We can’t wait for:

Antigoddess by Kendare Blake (Goddess War #1)

Antigoddess by Kendare Blake

Old Gods never die…

Or so Athena thought. But then the feathers started sprouting beneath her skin, invading her lungs like a strange cancer, and Hermes showed up with a fever eating away his flesh. So much for living a quiet eternity in perpetual health.

Desperately seeking the cause of their slow, miserable deaths, Athena and Hermes travel the world, gathering allies and discovering enemies both new and old. Their search leads them to Cassandra—an ordinary girl who was once an extraordinary prophetess, protected and loved by a god.

These days, Cassandra doesn’t involve herself in the business of gods—in fact, she doesn’t even know they exist. But she could be the key in a war that is only just beginning.

Because Hera, the queen of the gods, has aligned herself with other of the ancient Olympians, who are killing off rivals in an attempt to prolong their own lives. But these anti-gods have become corrupted in their desperation to survive, horrific caricatures of their former glory. Athena will need every advantage she can get, because immortals don’t just flicker out.

Every one of them dies in their own way. Some choke on feathers. Others become monsters. All of them rage against their last breath.

The Goddess War is about to begin.

We thought we’d highlight some of the things that we can’t wait for–not just the books!

We’re super excited about:

Meeting the Publishers

Meeting the Publishers

We love putting names with the faces of the publishers that we interact with on a regular basis. It’s so much fun to meet them and let them know how much we appreciate all the work they do.

Be sure to head over to Fiction Fare to find out what Jaime and Erin are excited about, too. We can’t wait to see those girls at BEA!!

Now it’s time for a tip that we’ve learned from attending BEA, as well as other conventions and events. Be sure to check out our other BEA tips.

Check Your Bag.

You will be getting a ton of books. For something like $3, you can check a suitcase and go back to it as many times as you want to add books to it. At the end of the day, you and your suitcase roll on out. Here’s the one Meg got for the trip:

Of course, still bring a sturdy bag or backpack to carry around with you!

That’s it for us today! Let us know in the comments if you’re attending BEA and what you’re excited for! If you’re not attending BEA this year, be sure to check out Armchair BEA!
