14 Days of Fictional Swooning- Intro + Our First Fictional Crushes & Giveaway

14 Days of Fictional Swoon

Hey guys! We are so excited to be co-hosting this fun, Valentine-y blog hop for the 2nd year in a row with our besties over at Fiction Fare! For the next 14 days we will be featuring fun posts, a scavenger hunt and giveaways galore! There tons of amazing bloggers and authors on this hop that have put together some ridiculously swoony posts for you and we can’t wait for you to read them all!

How Does It Work?

Each day you can visit the bloggers/authors on the tour and check out what they’re writing about. Some of them will be hosting their own giveaway in addition to the big group giveaway so there are lots of chances for you to win!

What’s The Scavenger Hunt?

The scavenger hunt part of this adds a fun way for you to see everyone’s posts and the opportunity to win the grand prize! We’re offering a tour-wide giveaway that gives you the chance to win a Kindle Fire!

All you need to do is visit each blog and collect each sites hidden words /phrases. Don’t worry these words will be marked in some way to make it obvious that those are the words you are looking for. (Maybe bright red, bold, and underlined?) To make it easier to keep track of the hidden words, we’ve split the two weeks into two different quotes for you to find! All the words for the first week will make one quote and all the words for the second week will make a second quote! Most importantly, make sure you enter these quotes in the rafflecopter at the end of the hop to earn extra entries!

What Else Do You Need To Know?

14 Days of Fictional Swoon Day #1

Not only are we telling you all about the 14 Days of Fictional Swoon today, we’re also going to kick things off by sharing our First Fictional Crushes with all of you! Ready to see who they are? Let’s do this:

Meg’s Boy

  • Gilbert Blythe (Anne of Green Gables Series by L.M. Montgomery)

Let’s be honest he’s kind of impossible not to crush on, right? Even my eight year-old self knew that the first time I was introduced to him. He was smart, stubborn, persistent, and just adorable. Plus, he said things like this:

We were born to be good friends, Anne. You’ve thwarted destiny enough.

and this…

Things can’t go on like this any longer. Anne, I love you. You know I do. I — I can’t tell you how much. Will you promise me that some day you’ll be my wife?”

Kass’ Boy

  • Dickon Sowerby (The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett)

Dickon is one of those unassuming, boy next door, can’t help yourself kind of boys. In fact, it’s probably safe to say that he was one of the originals. Animals loved him. Mary loved him. I loved him. There really wasn’t anything not to love. Especially when he said things like this:

Thou’s not such a bad-looking lass, at that. [pause] Why, thou’s blushing like a beet.
