Holiday #Readathon Mini-Challenge & Fun!

Readathon

Thanks to our Twinnies, we were lucky enough to meet Liza from WhoRuBlog during BEA this past year. She is a giant ray of sunshine and we instantly fell in love with her. When we found out that every year for the last 4 years she has been organizing a Holiday #Readathon, it was just further proof of how sweet she is. Not only are we participating in this year’s event, we are also hosting a mini-challenge so that we can give back to all of you!

When it came time for us to decide what we wanted to do for our mini-challenge we thought about what this time of year means to us. The answer was actually simple. We are all about good deeds and mistletoe. So what better way to celebrate the #Readathon than with doing a good deed for us and telling us all about the best kiss you’ve ever read. If you’re feeling really generous, you could even share the best kiss you’ve ever had. One of you will win our MEGA SWOON PACK which includes the following:

MEGA SWOON PACK

  • An ARC of These Broken Stars
  • A VERY swoony desk calendar
  • Swag (Or stocking stuffers for any book lover!)

♥  ♥  ♥

Before we start, let’s talk mistletoe. In our opinion there are wrong and right ways to use this little piece of awesomeness. So let’s go over some ground rules.

Right way to use it:

  1. I think the best kiss I’ve ever read was Warner and Juliette’s kiss (or you can even call it best make out scene. LOL). I am talking about the ever swoony Chapter 62. IT IS THE BEST. 😉

  2. There are so many to choose from but the best kiss recently I’ve read was in My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick between Jase and Sam. She was so sure about it and that was such a change from the usual. “”You have to kiss me,” I find myself saying. “Yeah.” He leans closer. “I do.” PERFECT! Also my favorite holiday recipe is Red Velvet Cupcakes with a cream cheese center dusted with powdered sugar.

  3. Hmm, my favorite is from Angel’s Blood, the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh. Elena and Raphael are dying(they didn’t in the end! it has a HEA) and they kiss over a partially destroyed NYC. It has me crying and sighing every time I re-read that book

  4. *O* I’m a truly romantic for this stuff and I end up loving all the scenes about kisses from all the books I’ve read ^^ But recently I’ve read Magnolia by Kristi Cook and Jemma kisses one of the boys (the one I love!! Can’t tell who, sorry *O*)… And… I LOVED IT!!! so much I wanted to be Jemma!! hahaha
Okay, and my best kiss (real one!), with my boyfriend in Paris (I know: cliché). It was very romantic ^^

  5. My favorite kiss was in the dream thieves. *spoilers* it wasn’t really a kiss it was an almost/pretend kiss between blue and gansey and it killed me.

  6. I posted a comment, but I don’t see it 🙁

  7. Wesley and Buttercup, from The Princess Bride! I like my romance with a little bit of humor 🙂

  8. So many great kisses to choose from! I’m going to go with Tessa and Will from The Infernal Devices. That made me swoon for sure!

  9. Working as counselors when we were 16 my (now) husband snuck me out of my tent and took me on a midnight hike. After crushing on each other for three years we finally got upthe nerve to share a kiss…. which ended up lasting three hours! (I swear my legs melted) It only took us another six years to get married!

  10. Jenelle Riane says

My favorite kiss is between Rose and Dimitri from Vampire Academy… every single one of them! 🙂

  11. My favorite kiss I read was the last kiss between Jem & Tessa from Clockwork Angel ! Thanks for hosting!

  12. One of my favourite kisses I’ve read about, more like a make out session, was Katy and Daemon in Obsidian, that laptop make out session. I haven’t read the rest of the series but I remember that being one of one the hottest scene kiss scenes I ever read about.

  13. I love the kiss between Hermione and Ron in Harry Potter in the Deathly Hallows when they are fighting in Hogwarts at the end. It isn’t the sexiest kiss; it just makes me smile. 🙂

  14. the one in the car with Rush and Blaire from Abbi Glines’ books

  15. So I had wanted to kiss this girl the moment I saw her. We were thirteen and living on an island. But we were awkward as all heck. So for three years we built up a friendship that was like being brother and sister. But we could always feel that there was something else there. That every punch and prank meant more than it seemed. Then one day I shoved a French fry drenched in ketchup in her ear and told her to sneak out with me that night. It was freezing so I told her to cuddle close and put my arm around her. I was shaking, but not from the cold. She turned to say something to me and I went for it. I leaned in and kissed her. It felt like electricity went through my whole body. Best. Kiss. Ever.

  16. I apologize the above connect was mine. Alyssa is my wife and I forgot to log her out before logging myself in.

  17. My favorite kiss would be Dean Holder and Sky’s first kiss! <3

  18. My favorite kiss in any form is one shared between two people who love each other. I was raised to wait until I got married, (I took that to mean to wait until I got married to ever kiss a guy. I’m only seventeen so just call be Drew Barrymore and let me star in “Never Been Kissed”) so I’ll share my favorite “book kiss” which won’t be very hard because I LOVE contemporary romance -it is my favorite!

I’m a complete Twilight nut, but no matter how much I love Edward, his kiss with Bella is still not my favorite. I would have to narrow it down by deciding which character’s the authors put through the most trauma. I’m a sucker for boy-leaves-girl-girl-cries-boy-comes-back-makes-everything-okay not so much for insta-love.

That said, I would have to say (with the spirit of the holidays in mind) that I loved Lila and Beau’s kiss. They stared in Kate Brian’s Holiday novel Ex-Mas. The way the story developed, (and the frustration they had towards each other) was great. It made the kiss that much sweeter for me as a reader. I absolutely love this book and it is all because of that one kiss….

    Happy holidays -Jordan

  19. My favorite kiss(or kisses) would have to be any of Sydney and Adrian’s kisses. I’m so in love with those two and practically all of their kisses make me swoon 🙂

  20. Okay! I loved Warner’s and Juliette’s kiss in Unravel me by Tahereh Mafi in Chapter 62. I was really into it! I have never loved Juliette as main character but their kiss… aaah.

And mine? Well, it wasn’t real kiss at all, just a fast kiss on my lips, but my almost ex-boyfriend kissed me in the underground while travelling. There was a really big crowd around us and he just smiled, gave me cute plush teddy bear and gave me goodbye kiss.

  21. Love you gorgeous ladies soooooo much! Thank you so much for doing this mini-challenge and for participating.
I’m answering this for the fun of it! Lucas from EASY by Tammara Webber! And pretty much any guy from a Jennifer Armentrout novel. Swooning! xxxxxx

  22. MY favorite kiss I’ve read is probably Tobias and Beatrice’s kiss in Allegiant when they sneak away into the night away from the eyes of his mother.

  23. I think I would have to go with Sydney and Adrian from Bloodlines! So much built up passion! 🙂
