RT Booklovers Convention 2016 takes places next week and we don’t want you to miss out on any of the awesomeness that will be going down. Not sure what RT is? Here’s the rundown:

What Is RT?

The RT Booklovers Convention is the book-industry event where you can mix business with pleasure. Attend more than 200 workshops as well as numerous parties and reader events that will keep you informed and in touch while having fun. It’s where friends new and old come together to learn about the industry we love and to have fun with authors and fellow book lovers. Fifty percent of conventioneers are first-time RT Convention attendees, and many travel by themselves. However, almost all leave having made new friendships they’ll cherish for years to come.

Who Attends RT ?

READERS, BLOGGERS, REVIEWERS, BOOKSELLERS and LIBRARIANS who share a passion for books and are eager to meet more than 800 of their beloved authors who attend. ASPIRING AUTHORS interested in refining their craft and who want to learn about the book business in general. PUBLISHED AUTHORS who want to meet more than 2,000 readers, network with fellow authors and industry professionals and who want to know more about opportunities in today’s changing market.

Some of our favorite parts of RT are the Book Fair and Teen day and we’re pretty sure they’ll be your favorites too. Ready to hear a little more about them?

***Interview With Amy Plum***

To get you even more excited about RT we’ve got an interview with author, Amy Plum all about the convention! Let’s get started

What are you looking forward to at Romantic Times?

After participating in two RT Conferences, I had to miss the last two years, and am super-excited about the 2016 conference. Living in France, I don’t often get the occasion to see my American author friends and my U.S. fans. The RT Conference is the place I know I’ll see the largest number of both authors and readers, so it’s the highlight of my events calendar. Meeting new authors and readers as well as having a heartfelt reunion with people I already know: that’s what I’m most looking forward to!

Which author that you haven’t met are you looking forward to meeting next at Romantic Times?

I’ve actually never met Lauren Oliver although we have several mutual friends. So I’d say that, besides meeting the cover models on Sunday, Lauren is the person I’m most looking forward to meeting!

What’s your favorite romance story?

I’m still a sucker for Bridget Jones and Mark Darcy (and Elizabeth Bennet and the REAL Mr. Darcy, of course), but besides those obvious picks, I would say favorite romance is the one between Peter Lake and in Mark Helprin’s WINTER’S TALE.

Romantic Times is in Las Vegas this year – tell us which one of your characters and from which book would win big in Vegas? What advice would you give that character?

Ambrose and Jules from the DIE FOR ME series are already known to have made money at the racetracks. They go with one of their fellow “volant” revenants who can see a few minutes into the future and make enough to have a good night out on the town before stopping. They would take Vegas like a storm! (Plus, hot undead French guys in Vegas? They would be the most popular guys in town.)

What is up next for you?

Up next in books is my horror duology DREAMFALL, coming out in 2017 with HarperTeen. Up next in conferences is the Romance Author and Reader Event in Edinburgh this July!
