{Top Ten Tuesday} 2014 Debuts We’re Excited For

Swoony Boys Podcast Top Ten Goals/Resolutions For 2014 Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is all about the Top Ten Debuts We’re Excited For In 2014! There are so many amazing debuts coming out this year. They cover so many genres, and we can’t wait to read them all. Our top ten made the list because something about them grabbed us for one reason or another. Check out each choice below for what made us desperate to get our hands on it. (As usual we went alphabetical because once you pick the top ten, it’s too hard to put them in order!) Here’s our list…

2014 Debuts We’re Excited For:

Great by Sara Benincasa

The cover was the first thing that grabbed our attention, and then we read the summary and knew this one needed to be read immediately. What words made us the most excited? The Great Gatsby, contemporary, darkly comic voice, drama, glitz, and romance. Sound like a perfect combination to us!

Red Rising by Pierce Brown

This book. Look at that cover and then click below to check out the summary! You’re hooked, right? We were. Luckily we’ve already gotten on our hands on this one and had the chance to read it. Our review will post later this month, but Meg is already calling it that Red Rising will be one of her favorite books of the whole year. (Keep an eye out for our upcoming Book Bangin’ podcast to hear us talk all about Darrow!)

Breakfast Served Anytime by Sarah Combs

How did we decide to put this on the list? We read this: A coming-of-age debut evokes the bittersweet joys and pangs of finding independence in one unforgettable summer away at “geek camp.”  If you know us, you know that all of our favorite words are covered there. What’s not to love?

GoodreadsAmazon

Exquisite Captive (Dark Caravan Cycle #1) and Something Real both by Heather Demetrios

This series sounds like it’s going to be amazing. We love a good fantasy, and one that is about a Jinni, war, and seduction is a must-read. This just so happens to be the only book on the list that doesn’t have a cover. We can’t wait to see what it looks like!

Goodreads

Reality TV? High school? Drama? Boyfriends? Awesome female narrator? Sounds like a recipe for something amazing. We cannot wait to read and review this one.  Plus, look at this cover!

Scan by SE Fine and Walter Jury

Of course the cover is awesome, but SCAN is more than that. It’s no secret that we’re suckers for a good male point of view YA. This one is a sci-fi that sounds perfect for us. We cannot wait to meet Tate and read his story. This one is another series, and we’re excited to get started with it!

GoodreadsAmazon

Landry Park by Bethany Hagen

Kass has had her eye on this one forever. We’re both desperate to get our hands on a copy. When you tell us that we’re going to get a little Downton Abbey, a little bit of The Selection, plus a story of love and betrayal- we’re sold. Add to that a very original sounding dystopian and a boy that sounds like he could knock our socks off and you can see why we’re drooling.

GoodreadsAmazon

Alienated by Melissa Landers

Look at this cover! No really, take a good long stare. It’s beyond gorgeous. In fact, that’s the first thing that grabbed our attention. But because we’re good little bookies, we didn’t want to judge a book by its cover and dug for more info. We weren’t disappointed. We can’t wait to meet Aelyx and Cara!

GoodreadsAmazon

Defy by Sara B. Larsen

We loved this one so much! If you haven’t already, make sure you check out our review of Defy here. If you’re into fantasy, magic, swoony Princes, kick ass heroines, war, and stories about fighting for what is right… you’ve found it.

GoodreadsAmazon

Open Road Summer by Emery Lord

You guys. This book has some of everything we love rolled into one: summer love, swoony rockstar guy, and BFF road trip. Plus, the cover is gorgeous. We can’t wait to read it!

GoodreadsAmazon

Talker 25 by Joshua McCune

Dragons + Dystopian + Debut Author = a Book that we can’t wait to get our ::grabbyhands:: on.

  2. Great list! I’m so excited for so many of these and they made my list too. I read and LOVED Alienated and I am so excited to get my hands on the finished hardback. There seems to be so many good books coming out in 2014, I’m not sure where I’ll find the time to read them all. I hope you get to all of your picks 🙂 My TTT.
