Swoony Boys Podcast Top Ten Books We Recommend the Most

Today we’re joining in on the fun of Top Ten Tuesday with the Top Ten Books We Recommend the Most. We couldn’t just come up with a list of ten books, because whenever someone asks us for a rec, we always need to know what kind of book they want to read. With a little more info to go on, here are our go-to recommendations:

The Number One Most Recommended Book:

Divergent by Veronica Roth
Did you really think there would be a more-recommended book for us? We love Divergent by Veronica Roth so much, we made an entire site about it. It has everything you want and more: action, romance, a great storyline, swoony boy(s), and girls who kick ass. Trust, you want to read this book.

The Series With Everything You Ever Wanted:

Call it middle-grade, fantasy, whatever you want–Harry Potter has everything you could possibly want in a series. And when you’re finished reading and want more more more, you can always read Finding Himself 🙂

If you want…

A Swoony Boy that Drives You Crazy:

We love Anna and the French Kiss and we really love Étienne St. Clair. There’s epic swoonage, but some of the things Étienne does just drives us crazy! We know he’s a boy you’ll love–even when you want to throw things at him.

If you want…

A {Hot} Military Boy:

What kind of post would this be if we didn’t include our love for Travis from Something Like Normal by Trish Doller? We love him (and have a podcast episode dedicated to him), so we know you will, too.

If you want…

Realistic Teen Angst {with Super Swoon}:

Though the actual plot of My Life Next Door isn’t something that we expect many people have endured (we won’t spoil), we can only hope that all of our readers get to to encounter someone as sweet and swoony as Jase. So many feelings!

If you want…

Bromance (jk jk) An Awesome Dystopian Series:

We love so much about the amazing world that Veronica Rossi built in the Under the Never Sky Series and we tell everyone we know to read it! We have a podcast episode dedicated to our love of Perry and Roar, too.

If you want…

Angels:

We love the Unearthly series by Cynthia Hand. Swoony boys and tons of mystery make this a great choice for angel-seekers.

If you want…

A Retelling:

Retellings seem to be gaining popularity, and Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson is one of our favorites. Everyone should read this book!

If you’re in to…

Musicians:

::sigh:: Joe Fontaine. There’s lots more to this book but Joe Fontaine is one of our very favorite parts. We’re pretty sure that he’ll be one of your favorites, too.

If you want a…

Girl Who Totally Kicks Ass:

We love Sophie’s snark and humor. She’s a girl we could totally be BFFs with (except for the fact that we’re totes breaking girlcode by lusting after her boyfriend). We love the Hex Hall series by Rachel Hawkins.

And an honorable mention (since we couldn’t limit our list to just ten):

If you’re looking for…

A Grown Up Book:

How to Kill a Rock Star is one of the most amazing books ever written. It’s not for YA-only readers because it deals with some very adult-topics, but man oh man–you have to read this book!

So, that’s our list this week. Have you read any (or all) of these? What are the books you recommend the most??

  2. Under the Never Sky made my list too. It’s my favorite dystopian book ever! I’ve read a lot on your list – Hex Hall series, HP series, Unearthly series, Divergent – all very good books!

  3. LOVE YOUR LIST. You had me sold at Divergent, but then you mentioned “the swoony boy that drives you crazy”. JUST AH. Anna is my favorite. And I basically adore your list.
