Swoony Boys Podcast Top Ten Books We Recommend the Most

We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday list, and this one is all about the Top Ten New-To-Us Authors We Read In 2013. We had a difficult time narrowing this list down to just ten authors because there are so many, but ultimately knew these were the teneleven for us. There are a few debut authors in our list as well as some newly-discovered writers with multiple books out already. Here they are (in alphabetical order so we’re not playing favorites ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Awesome Authors We Discovered in 2013:

Katie Cotugno

Katie Cotugno
How to Love is possibly our favorite read of 2013, and we’re so excited that we found this debut author, not to mention we can’t stop saying Sawyer LeGrande’s name. ๐Ÿ™‚

Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner

Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner
We know this is technically cheating, but we couldn’t mention one without the other. Author Meagan Spooner has been on our radar ever since we heard about her first book, Skylark, but we hadn’t read it when we picked up These Broken Stars, the book she wrote with Amie Kaufman What can we say? We love Tarver and can’t wait to read more from these two!

Leah Rae Miller

We were blown away by how much we loved Leah Rae Miller’s breakout novel, The Summer I Became a Nerd. We weren’t influenced at all by the fact that she lives in Louisiana ๐Ÿ™‚ but what we do know is we can’t wait to read whatever she comes up with next!

Natalie Richards

::le sigh:: You know we love Adam Reed and could go on forever about how much we flail over him. We’re so glad we were introduced to Natalie Richards this year and can’t wait to see what’s next on her shelves.

Rainbow Rowell

Rainbow Rowell
We feel like the amazing Rainbow Rowell requires no introduction. We read not one, but two incredibly-written swoonworthy boysbooks this year, and we’re already crazyexcited for her next book. Trust us, everything from Rainbow should be labeled required reading.

Jennifer Rush

Jennifer Rush
We fell in love with Jennifer Rush almost as quickly as swooned over the cover of her debut, Altered. There’s more to her than just a pretty face–she’s an incredibly talented author and awesome gal all around. We can’t wait to tell you about the followup to Altered, Erased and are holding out our ::grabbyhands:: for whatever she has out next.

Samantha Shannon

Samantha Shannon
We have to admit that we were a little intimidated when we found a glossary included in our copies of The Bone Season, but we have to admire debut author Samantha Shannon’s genius. We love everything about this book and know we’re going to see amazing things from her in the future.

Katie Sise is so sweet (we know we always mention how pretty she is) and wrote such a fun story. We’re so glad that we got to meet her and can’t wait to read her next book!

Kasie West

Kasie West
Author Kasie West had us at Trevor (we still don’t know his last name) and lost any chance of us ever letting go with Xander Spence. West is a jack-of-all-trades, writing fun contemporaries and paranormal time-travelling thrillers. We can’t wait to read Split Second and On the Fence next year!

Allen Zadoff

Allen Zadoff
Boy Nobody was an amazing read (one of our favorites ever!) and had us wondering why we’ve never read anything else by Allen Zadoff. You better believe we’ll be reading all of the things as soon as possible!
